I have been using these face mask recipes for years. I am 38 years old, i have never had filler or any other type of treatment because i really believe that nature can come from natural ingredients. I love that natural elements can support your glow up at any age!

My skin at 38! You can either find me in a robe, or in an apron!

I am so obsessed with natural beauty remedies. Even when i was younger i would gravitate towards using items from my kitchen to help my skin rather than buying products from Sephora. Don’t get me wrong, i love Sephora, but there is something so special about a natural remedy that works. I also love Ayurvedic beauty practices, you can read my blog post about that here.

Long before 25 step skincare routines were ever a thing, many women relied on ingredients they already had in their kitchens to care for their skin.

Raw honey, creamy avocado, soothing oats, and nourishing yogurt have been used for generations to create gentle treatments that leave skin feeling soft, hydrated, and glowing.

The best part? These ingredients are natural and won’t break the bank!

Why natural face masks are so popular

Natural skincare is becoming increasingly popular because many people are trying to avoid harsh chemicals and simplify their beauty routines.

Another benefit is that you know exactly what you are putting on your skin. By using natural ingredients, your skin receives all of the benefits, without the unnecessary additives.

Here are three simple face masks that you can make in your own kitchen.

Glow mask - Turmeric and Honey

This mask is my favorite and i use it every single week. Turmeric is known for its brightening and anti inflammatory properties, while raw honey helps moisturize and soothe the skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of raw honey

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon of milk or yogurt (optional)

How to make it:

  1. Mix the honey and turmeric in a small bowl.

  2. Add a splash of milk or plain yogurt if you want a smoother consistency.

  3. Stir well.

How to use:

  1. Apply a thin layer to clean skin.

  2. Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes.

  3. Gently rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

Skin benefits:

  • Brightens dull skin

  • Reduces redness

  • Helps calm inflammation

  • Leaves skin soft and glowing

Tip: Turmeric can stain clothes and towels, so apply carefully and only dry your face when it is all off.

Hydrating mask - Avocado and Yogurt

If your skin is feeling dry, tight, or tired, this mask is a wonderful treat for your face. Avocado contains healthy fats and vitamins that deeply moisturize the skin.

Ingredients:

  • ½ ripe avocado

  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon honey

How to make it:

  1. Mash the avocado in a bowl until smooth.

  2. Mix in the honey and yogurt.

  3. Stir until the texture is creamy.

How to use:

  1. Apply to freshly cleansed skin.

  2. Relax and leave on for 15 minutes.

  3. Rinse with warm water and gently pat dry.

Skin benefits:

  • Deep hydration

  • Improves skin elasticity

  • Leaves skin feeling smooth and nourished

This mask is great during the winter, dry seasons.

Soothing mask - Honey and Oatmeal

Oatmeal has been long used to calm irritated skin (I use this mask on my daughters eczema). It is a great mask for those of us with sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of ground oats

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1-2 tablespoons of warm water or milk

How to make it

  1. Grind oats in a blender or coffee grinder until they form a fine powder.

  2. Mix with honey in a bowl.

  3. Add warm water slowly, until it forms a paste.

How to use

  1. Gently apply to the skin.

  2. Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes.

  3. Rinse off using circular motions.

This mask is also a great exfoliator and also helps restore softness.

Some tips before using DIY face masks

Before applying any masks, keep these tips in mind:

Do a patch test - Apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist and see how your skin reacts.

Use fresh ingredients - Make sure your are mixing fresh ingredients each time you do the masks. Since they do not contain any chemicals, they won’t keep if stored.

Always apply to clean skin

Follow with a good moisturizer
