I love Sundays! What i do on Sundays usually determines how well my week will go so i like to use it to align my energy and my week with success!

My Sunday routine used to be wake up at 7am, make a coffee, and then sit on my couch and do absolutely nothing! That is totally fine of course, and sometimes so needed, but something started to shift when i started intentionally using Sunday to set up my week for productivity and success.

I would find however, that i would spend Monday’s playing catch up, not knowing what i was making for dinner, and i would have to go grocery shopping, on top of everything else that Monday had in store for me.

Now, i find a Sunday well spent can do wonders for my week ahead. And not in a chore list type way, but in a way that felt good to me.

Not a 5 hours clean and grocery store run, but more of a soft, intentional reset that starts my week off in the right energy.

I am going to share with you my exact Sunday reset that changed everything for me.

Why a Sunday reset matters

Everything from the week before is in the past. Sunday is about a fresh start and creating new energy for a new week. It is almost like a chance to start again and choose differently.

✨Step one: Coffee and Journal session

My Sunday morning journal session may be the most important journal session of the week!

I make a cup of favorite coffee and then grab my journal and write:

  • Any lingering thoughts from the past week that i need to get out.

  • My tasks for the week ahead and what day i need to do them.

  • Any bill that need to be paid for the week - this keeps your relationship with money clear.

  • A quick grocery list.

  • A note of the recipes that i want to try - If the recipe is on Pinterest i make sure to put that in my notes!

Writing all of this down helps me to get clear on what i am creating this week and keeps me on track - it only takes 15 - minutes max!

🌿Light clean, not a deep clean

After my journal session and i am awake, i will do a quick clean up if i need to. With three children and a dog, Saturday can be a bit of a busy blur so there is usually shoes to pick up and things to put away.

I leave my deep cleans for the week - Sunday is a pick up day. To make this not feel like a chore and to make sure it doesn’t continue all day:

  • Set a timer for half an hour max.

  • Focus on areas like the kitchen island and entryway - in my house having these areas clear makes Monday easier.

  • Do any dishes in the sink.

  • Start one load of laundry.

Doing this will make you feel like you have a head start on your week.

🚿Everything shower

Sunday will always be my everything shower day! An everything shower is literally just that. I pull out all of my favorite body oils and products and pamper myself!

Everything shower steps:

  • Brushing every part of my body using my body brush.

  • Self body massage with oils like coconut oil.

  • Face mask.

In the shower:

  • Exfoliate with a body scrub.

  • Shave my legs.

  • Wash my hair and a 3 minute hair mask.

  • finish with a body wash.

  • Massage in more oil into my skin when i get out.

I always put on my silk robe after - it just feels so luxurious.

🍓Farmers market run

This is my favorite Sunday activity. Sunday for me, is for groceries. I love to shop locally and the farmers market in my area is my favorite place.

Since i already have a grocery list from the morning, i know what i am getting so i don’t have to spend a lot of time thinking about what to get.

My weekly staples:

  • Fruits and vegetables

  • Meat like steak and chicken

  • Jam and local condiments

  • Eggs

  • Treats from local bakers - not always but sometimes!

A Costco run will usually happen on Saturday, that is where i get other things like paper towels etc.

I don’t buy bread as i usually bake two loaves on Mondays and during the week we eat pretty clean and simple - this has done amazing things for our health.

🍵Create a Sunday night wind down

How well you sleep on Sunday night will determine how your week starts.

Try this:

  • Putting on your favorite pajamas a few hours before you go to bed - this helps me relax!

  • Drink some sleepy tea one hour before bed.

  • Diffuse some lavender essential oils in your bedroom.

  • Read instead of scrolling before you sleep.

  • Going to bed early.

A good nights sleep is sometimes all you need and that starts with the right environment.

I also like to change my bedsheets every Sunday before bed. This helps the bed feel fresh and changing your pillow case weekly does wonders for your skin.
