10 Things i loved this week
My week wrapped up in 10 pictures! Everything i loved about this week ❤️
Life is about finding joy in the little things. True happiness happens in the small moments and i want to share mine with you so that you can feel inspired to find the joy in your little moments during the week.
One: Baking British treats
This week i made iced finger buns. They were my favorite treat growing up. If you didn’t know, i grew up in Southampton, England. I have been in Canada since 2009 and i still miss British food!
I love to recreate recipes from my childhood so that mu children can taste foods from England.
Iced finger buns are a sweet bun covered in icing. They are a little time consuming to make, but they are worth it! Next weekend my son turns 10 and he has requested these again! I will be posting the recipe as a blog post the next time i make them, so stay tuned for that.
Two: I organized my week
Last Sunday i took out my journal and i planned out my week for my blog. This actually helped me so much and when i am done with this blog post i will be doing it again!
I homeschool my children and just having my work week planned helped me to stay on track and allowed me to have time for everything i needed to do in my week.
Today i will be adding other things into my plan like what meals i will be making, and what things need to be done in my home. I think i will be adding this to my Sunday rituals. Sunday is naturally the day when i plan my meals and go to the farmers market so it makes sense for me to plan my week then.
Three: A dreamy bubble bath
I took the best bath! Every Wednesday i take a bath. This may sound strange but, baths midweek actually help me to feel relaxed enough to finish the week with energy and ease. This year one thing i promised myself was better self care, and taking a bubble bath every Wednesday is one of my favorite things. I make it a whole event, i light candles, have my crystals near, and use only the best bubble bath.
My tub has soaker jets and this has been a game changer for me, it’s just so perfect. I am already looking forward to Wednesday!
Four: I made some skin remedies
I made this mainly for my daughter, but this week i made a soothing body oil. It was so easy, anyone can make this!
Last year i grew a lot of chamomile and i have been looking for ways to use besides making tea. I dried it and it has been sitting in a dry jar.
You can make this too, it is good for soothing eczema and other skin irritations.
All you need:
A clean jar
¼ cup of dried chamomile
Any oil like argan, sweet almond, or jojoba oil
A few drops of vitamin e (optional)
Mix all of the ingredients and store in the jar for 7 days before use so that the chamomile can infuse with the oil. Make sure that you are using dried chamomile.
Five: My seedlings are thriving
One of my biggest joys is seeing anything i plant, bloom! It is on of the best things in life, in my opinion. So far i have cosmos seeds growing on my windowsill, and i also just started some tomatoes and more sweet basil.
Last night i spontaneously started some Dahlias from seed as an experiment, i will update you on how those are going next week!
This year i will be renting a plot on a local farm that we volunteer at, so i am hoping to also plant zucchini, carrots, corn, and sunflowers. My seed stash is a little out of control!
Six: Mushroom coffee
I went to winners this week and found this mushroom, cocoa powder to add to my coffee. Mushrooms have so many health benefits and they provide energy without that jittery crash.

Seven: Bathroom refresh
I put on some calming music and did a little bathroom refresh.
As you know, Feng Shui is a huge part of my life and i use it everything i do to my home.
I went through all of my drawers and cupboards and threw away expired products, things i don’t use anymore, and gave it a good wipe down. I like my bathroom to always feel like a spa and can really feel when the energy is stagnant.
In Feng Shui, the bathroom is an important room. It has a lot of water energy and must be balanced with wood energy to help soak it up energetically. Too mush water energy can have a drain on finances.
Eight: Plant love
My money tree was is desperate need of some maintenance. I have had it for almost 10 years and it is almost 8 feet tall. I don’t really do much to it except water it every 10 days or so and that is the only advice i can give! I know that for some people they can be hard to keep alive. All i did this week was water it and then cut of some dying leaves.
Nine: Spring joy
The colors and decor in stores has been making me so happy! It has been snowing on and off where i am but when i walk into any store, the spring decor is keeping me in the knowing that spring is so close! It is hard to live somewhere where the weather is mainly winter for most of the year.
Ten: Books!
Part of my morning routine everyday is to read and learn something. I always have one book that i am learning from, and one that is a fun read on the go. This week i am reading living Ayurveda, by Claire Ragozzino. I live by Ayurveda principles every day so i like to read books about it too. I love to learn as much as i can.
One tip i have for you is to never stop learning, especially about the topics that light you up! When you do this, you are learning about things that are aligned to your purpose. You are excited by them for a reason.
If Ayurveda interests you, you can grab a copy of this book on Amazon here.
